I quite don't know if its tolerate to speak about this or to request them anyway but. Everyone knows that mp3 is quite a poor musical quality format. and I have noticed on the simfiles from the site that pretty all of them are between 128 to 192 kbps. I would know if someone who has the osts from Extreme and/or Super Nova 1 and 2 which could use WMP10 or similar mp3 encoder, convert them and give to the community "good" MP3 of their favorite musics in terms of quality like 320 kbps then update them in the site.

I quite pretend this could be for the good of all players of the community. but my 2 cents anyway ^.^

What's wrong with 128kbps .mp3's? It's just a music game, not some surround sound THX quality experience. Turn the bass up, turn the disco lights on, and play (I've never heard anyone complain about music quality, myself included).

I quite don't complain, I've just asked if someone who has the osts would be enough kind to spend like 30 minutes to rip them from CD and upload them in 320 kbps for the ones which are instrested in this. You should know that mp3 compression cut out a lots of sounds which originaly was supposed to can't be heard by your ears but in fact the quality is lost and if you have a good ear and compare the same track in different quality you should notice that change and as far as i know the 320 kbps is quite the best you can get with mp3.

128kbps is considered rather low quality these days. Anyone with decent hearing and good speaker will notice a huge difference from 128kbps and 192kbps unless your hearing age is very high. (i.e. cannot hear frequencies above 16KHz, equivalent of a file at 32000Hz instead of 44100Hz)

So, what's the problem with cutting out sounds that can't be heard?

Newsflash: If you're actually playing the game, you know, dancing, moving your feet, hitting arrows, your feet are going to hide a lot more of the sounds than the compression.

Audiophile: Someone who listens to the equipment instead of the music.
silenttype01: Kyzentun is never harsh. He says it how it is.

GENERATION 24: The first time you see this, copy it into your sig on any forum and add 1 to the generation. Social experiment.

Take a track in 128 kbps and the same in 320 kbps both from the same CD and go listen it . honestly if you can't hear a difference i might say you can only be deaf man >.> its has nothing to do with the equipement (since a mp3 is just a file) its all a matter that how good you would listen the music you like.

You said that you're new to the whole internet thing; welcome to the internet. Expect this kind of behavior as it is the internet. That's just how it works. Can't handle it? Does it bother? Does it anger you? Ignore it. That's your best solution. Puppy Face

We all enjoy a good argument. Kyzentun simply stated a flaw in your reasoning and typing. No hard feelings; an argument never hurts anyone. Cool
