What do you think a 20 in DDR X will be like?

Shades of Grey is bloody retarded. A slow song with (almost) nothing but 4ths on rated an 8 shouldn't exist. That song has no challenge whatsoever, especially with the up-right jumps at the beginning. This song is easier than, say, BRILLIANT 2U (K.O.G G3 Mix).

Yes, I chose a song of similar speed to prove my point.

Shades of Grey is a joke.
It looks like someone accidentally put their drink on the right arrow for a while, then noticed and moved it. Then put it there again, then noticed and moved it to the left arrow. And the only way that piece of trash could be an 8 is if they accidentally rated it on the X scale. It's clearly a 6 at best.

It's possible, because a Doubles chart can technically be easier, but actually be harder just because of the extra set of arrows.

Remember, though, that ITG1 had no 13s on Doubles.

BRILLIANT 2U (K.O.G G3 Mix) is pretty easy already. Shades of Grey is even easier but given a 8-foot while BRILLIANT 2U (K.O.G G3 Mix) is a 7?

Just an example of how messed up is the ratings.

(I still remember the 9-foot rating for PARANOiA KCET Clean mix, and PARANOiA Dirty Mix is a 8-foot, but the groove radar is the other way around.)

I just hope it's something difficult without gimmicks. Actually, if Konami would redo previous shitty charts like Shades of Grey, that would be awesome.

Also a better distribution of hard songs would be nice. There really doesn't need to be just one hardest song.

Konami has always been fairly inconsistent, but their ratings on SN2 were unforgivable. You had 7s that were well written, but 8's and 9's that were probably easier.

All I remember from older ones are like 祭 JAPAN was easier than祭 JAPAN(FROM NONSTOP MEGAMIX)
The former one is a 9 and the latter one is a 7.

But seriously, it will probably have ridiculous patterns, weird stops and speed changes, and unnecessary Shock Arrows.

Not every song has to be an 18. Sure it's not really an 8, but that doesn't mean it sucks. Trying to make an 18 out of a song that's obviously not is like trying to cook a chicken so it tastes like fish. It doesn't work. And if it does work (without drugs) then there's a Nobel Prize due somewhere.

Of course, my most played song on Extreme 2 is "Inside Your Heart". I like the easier charts because you can use them as a break song, if you will, and still enjoy playing.

And I totally agree with you, I love having easier charts to use as break stages...my most played song in SN2 would probably be Under The Sky or Baby's Tears, I love those songs/charts
