I have decided on trying to make a keysounded simfile, purely out of curiosity. I have already started re-composing the main fight theme from River City Ransom in FruityLoops, with the Magical8Bit Plugin. The first 15 seconds so far are done, and it sounds nearly-perfect.
Anyway, I can't find the options for adding keysounds to notes in the StepMania CVS editor, and I haven't found any tutorials online how to keysound a StepMania file, after over an hour of searching. I know it's possible, because of a YT video I saw, where someone played some GhostBusters song on StepMania CVS, and it was keysounded. The .sm file also has a #KEYSOUNDS section at the end of the header, too, but I don't know the format for setting up the keysounds.
So, help, anyone?

What StepMania version was it? Perhaps it was modified.
Link to video and .sm, perhaps? I'd like to browse through it too.

Edit: So noone knows the format for keysounds in SM4?
Could someone maybe point me in the direction of someone who might know? Should I even bother asking at BMS? (they are somewhat elitist/sarcastic there, so I'd wait for a second opinion)
I finished the 8-bit bass music for the simfile, and I finished all 71 keysounds it will use.

StepMania CVS supports keysounds, according to some long-ago posts by BemaniStyle users.
The keysounded simfile I saw was here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qnn2uInOHcY
I took a random simfile, Bloodrush, and stuck it in SM4 to save it in the editor. I didn't make any changes or whatnot, just opened and saved. Here's what the header in the simfile looked like, minus the data included for bgchanges:
#TITLE:Bloodrush;
#SUBTITLE:;
#ARTIST:Tekno Dred;
#TITLETRANSLIT:;
#SUBTITLETRANSLIT:;
#ARTISTTRANSLIT:;
#GENRE:Trance;
#CREDIT:;
#BANNER:Bloodrush-banner.png;
#BACKGROUND:Bloodrush-bg.png;
#LYRICSPATH:;
#CDTITLE:;
#MUSIC:music.ogg;
#OFFSET:0.001;
#SAMPLESTART:54.680;
#SAMPLELENGTH:11.920;
#SELECTABLE:YES;
#BPMS:0.000=158.000,77.000=79.000,109.000=158.000;
#STOPS:12.000=1.139;
#TIMESIGNATURES:0.000=4=4;
#BGCHANGES:;
#BGCHANGES2:;
#KEYSOUNDS:;
The #KEYSOUNDS area is blank by default.

Ask on StepMania.com forums? I've never gone there but they'd be the ones to know.
Sorry, I don't have a lot of time (finals!) to toy around with it at this time, and it's not inherently obvious to me how it works.
