Figured I'd go ahead and release this as I haven't had too much time lately to continue working on it and it's in a good enough state to release at this point. Hoping I can get around to polishing up the profile select screen as well as a few other things in the coming months. I'm happy to try and fix any bugs or visual problems that may occur for anyone as they are brought up in this thread.
This theme actually started as one meant to be optimized for the nxshim fork of StepMania for Nintendo Switch (hence the NX moniker) and as such runs fairly well on it. Give it a try if you have a modded Nintendo Switch!

As of 9/5/23 DDR NX is compatible with OutFox thanks to Jose Varela, Curilang, and SchneiderAFX!

logged into my dormant account to say that this is so, so incredibly sick. thank you for making such an inspiring DDR theme.
the way you integrated the options menu into the song select, how the judgement and combos are underneath the notefield by default, and the beautiful arrow particles behind the gameplay screen -- not to mention the dope-ass extruded noteskin you included -- makes for an unbelievably beautiful dancing experience.
this theme shows so much potential and i'm genuinely looking forward to seeing where it goes.
if i can get on my knees and beg for a moment: please consider adding versus and doubles play, as well as adding a free-play arcade mode, so i can put this on my personal DDR cab. that would make this theme kick even more ass than it currently does.
and as a final note, this theme works great with itgmania, and for those that are confused about which engine to use, try that one!

I'm so glad ya'll like it and I really appreciate the feedback! Makes the hard work worth it when I read posts like that.
In hindsight I really wish I had developed it using OutFox and had tried to incorporate more than just solo play but being a one man operation I didn't want to bite off more than I could chew.
Even if versus, doubles, and free-play arcade end up being too much of a task for me to incorporate into this theme, I'm hoping I'll have the inspiration, motivation, and time to create a fully-featured OutFox theme some time in the future. Edit: Oh and maybe Risky/Life 4, if those could be added that would be cool. Basically just some more player options stuff. Visually, nothing should change.
Edit: Small bug report, possibly ITGmania related since it's 5.1-new and not vanilla 5.1. The speed mod always says 1.5x no matter what it is set to. Also background videos don't play. If the video is scripted such as Beware's MAX.(period) from Extreme JP CS available at http://ddr.bircd.org/, the standard theme visuals play. If it's a video file in the folder but not in the .sm file, something like The History of the Future, it just displays the song's static -bg image. I checked the background settings in NX Options and it's set to Auto. If I change it to On then the theme visuals play on every song.

Compatibility updates for OutFox are in the works if you have an install of OutFox to use. (HUGE thanks to Jose_Varela!) Haven't gotten to test with itgmania before but this coming update may give you a new avenue to test/play.

At that point why not use Starlight with the X2 background, wheel song select, and Encisso’s patch for his stages/dancer system? This theme can and should be it’s own thing.
