Realised this post was in the wrong thread, so let's try again.....
It's less than 14 days to go until the ESC comes to Liverpool, so I think this should get a thread....
What do you think will happen in this contest?
Which countries should make it to the grand final?
There are more than 25 countries taking part in each of the 2 semi finals, but only 10 in each will qualify. However, the other 6 countries (including us) do not compete in any of the Semi Finals, as they have already qualified for the Grand Final. The question is: which countries should qualify in each of the 2 semi finals?
How will you be watching?
In the UK, both semi finals and the Grand Final will air on BBC ONE at 8pm and I promise you, the grand final could take us past midnight. Will you be watching the ESC on these channels with commentary, or will you be watching the official live stream on YouTube with no commentary?
What performance are you looking forward to?
What performance are you most excited for in this contest? Are you excited for our entry, or do you have a country participating (like Loreen) that should be a real winner?
How will the UK fare?
Mae Muller is our entry for this contest, so how do you think she will do? Where in the running order will she be in the grand final? In which position do you think our entry will place in the grand final and how many points in total will she score? Most of all, will she be able to go 1 better and win?
Who should win the contest?
50% of the votes come from the National Juries, meaning the other 50% comes from the entire European Union, the UK & Australia. Which country do you think should win and what will be the Top 5?

At the time of writing, the first semi final has already aired. I did get every country correct that I predicted, even though I miss Latvia in the final. If I look at semi 2, it's pretty clear cut that Austria, Slovenia and Australia should make it, with Cyprus, Armenia and Georgia as outsiders.
How will you be watching?

Ooh yes.It's a very weird experience seeing how the sausage is effectively made for yourself. I chose the right one to do it: crowd was MENTAL good all night. Amazing how one of the smallest crowds in years is by far the loudest.

Round 1 We're off on our whistle stop tour.... Ukraine. And we're on the board with 4 points! Come on! Sweden gets 12 points!
Round 2 Up next is Italy, no ground gained, but the 12 points go to...... Israel!
Round 3 Up next is Latvia. Still no points, but Estonia gets the 12 points here.
Round 4 Up next is the Netherlands. No points for the UK, but I think this could go Sweden's way as they've got 12 points.
Round 5 Up next is Malta! The UK is in a tight spot, as we are at the 2nd half of the board. Sweden gets 12 though.
Round 6 Up next is Ireland. And finally! We got 2 points. We're up to 6, but Sweden is still leading!

Well they've done it again. Sweden is the winner!
The UK, by the way, is 25th place. That really is a bad result with 24 points, but I still like the fact that we got points from Ukraine first and the 9 points we got meant we were already slaughtered. Here is the final result.
How did the UK fare?
Mae Muller did all she could, but placing 25th is a lesson to be learnt. I predicted it to be in the Top 5, but 25th? It was a banger but it could have done better.

The song was not a live song and Mae couldn’t give it justice. She probably deserves the place she got. I don’t think that Germany deserved last place, but I doubt they care. They send what they like, not what the public wants.

I agree and getting 9 points in the televote means we were already ending the contest in defeat. Dropping to 25th place after 7 countries means we were already done for. I mean, we got 183 points n the televote last year and zero points 2 years ago (and also 4 years ago), but only 9 points? We couldn't vote, the others could, but not Mae Muller. I hope the UK's status changes so we can win after 27 years. We only beat Germany, and when the televote for us was announced, it was already the end for us. I think Sweden deserved that win after getting more than 200 points, but the UK is doing so badly. Sorry, it’s been a while and I hadn’t seen this, but this is absolute bollocks. The bill for the Eurovision is incredibly cheap, even as a Big 5 country, and to the BBC, it doesn’t matter where we finish, in terms of money-to-ratings, it’s one of the greatest value for money shows, if not THE greatest. Double the usual audience on a Saturday night for literally the cost of one episode of Casualty. Any talk of withdrawal this year, especially considering how the UK’s generally done since 2000, is frankly wrong.
