Why just that one? Why are the others not being removed? Not that I want them to be, but still.

Either the license agreement end dates are different, or Konami the the record labels could agree to terms to extend the other songs but not this one. Some just stick around longer than others, look at how long something like Golden Sky stuck around until X3 while a bunch of the SN2, X, and even a couple X2 licenses were already gone at that point.

Yeah. Only My Railgun just cringed on for like 10 years as a license.

3 new Challenge charts for old songs were just released.

Funky Summer Beach is a 17
Wadatsumi is an 18
Plan 8 is also an 18

Brosoni is playing those charts right now on a youtube live

Kinda dissapointed the DDR BGM song ended up being just the 2013's system music. It's strange TAG wasn't credited though, it's literally just a prototype (?) version of Another Phase after all

Isn't Trust still in the game too? At this point I don't think they'll ever remove it...

Trust is licensed? Didn't know that. Probably because I never watched Gurren Lagann. Apparently it was absent in the X2 location test, but later added in the final game. Maybe it's like the same thing that happened with Determination.

Trust is technically a license but it's considered a Konami Original (correct me if I'm wrong) because of Tatsh's involvement (at the time, he worked for Konami, he wasn't a freelancer yet)

anyways that new BGM song is kinda pointless since we already have Another Phase, kinda wish we got a song based on the X2 or X3 BGMs instead

Honestly the 1st Mix to Extreme era has better BGM music to use in DDR. Even the console versions like Party Collection have some banger BGM tracks by Sota Fujimori.

This is not confirmed. They sent out a USB update for UK DDR A to remove licenses, if they have to they can do it again for A20+. Hopefully they don't though.

I kiiiiiinda think that has more to do with the sound producer for DDR at that time. Naoki was the head for all of those including the home versions (I think). The one-off home versions (Extreme 2, Party Collection, Strike, etc I think were headed by Sota).
After Extreme, Naoki stepped down quite a bit from the SuperNOVA era until his departure. A3's BGM ain't bad, but the last one that I truly liked was X3 vs 2nd Mix and that one had dj Taka as the sound producer; which (I thought) explains why that version is so widely praised as one of THE best since Extreme.

i thought that was X2, X3 got criticized for the CS transplants by Westerners (though idk how Japan feels since they never got those CS songs until that mix) and some people were mixed on how the 2ndMIX stuff turned out if i recall correctly

anyways i don't think they'd use any NAOKI BGMs even if they're more comfortable with directly acknowledging his works in newer BEMANI games now (like LOVE SHINE crossing over to GITADORA in 2021), they'd want to use BGMs that are more current and relevant i think

Come to think of it, you may be right and I'm confusing the 2. Taka was sound producer for X2 as well and that one is widely praised, maybe not as much as X3, so my bad. I just think the BGM for X3 is a lil better.

I heard that Challenge score of "Yuni's Nocturnal Days / Camellia" can be played on DDR in DanceDanceRevolution 20th anniversary model! I'm sure it's not an ogre at all, but about the same as the Another score of Have You Never Been Mellow, so please try it out!
