Wow, this sure got off topic fast huh
Just gonna bump this with some actual content I guess
SX10/DX10
SX12/DX12
Is there any way to double-post on this website? Bumping individuals in dead threads is incredibly annoying if you're limited to one video per post. At least, the merging of two posts always spazzes out if I have more than one video in a post, so I have no idea what's up.

Unfortunately, I've only doubleposted by accident here. I'm also not sure why more than one video in a post shits all over it, either.

It's whatever, I can make do with the current way I guess. That being said, reviews on any charts, especially newer ones, are still appreciated.Another simfile, another post append

You can actually double-post from the mobile site, I think.

Stepmania experiment.
Course (Encore - Telperion) (10) (Plop this folder in your Courses folder)
Today I got a really bad idea to make a mini-course for 3 songs I liked a lot from Comp VII:
Quote
encore
Scratch
[getsufumaden] ryukotsuki -yks Remix- -Exhaust-
Scratch
[getsufumaden] ryukotsuki -yks Remix- -Exhaust-
This .crs is my attempt at the first of those three (it's also the first time I've ever written any sort of course oops). Big ups to Telperion for making a cool file to a neet song.
You can get (and will need) the file itself from the R21freak Pad File Comp VII. Also, the pathname is set as
Quote
r21freak_Pad_File_Comp_VII/encore
because the original upload did not have all the files in a group folder. If that is not the name of your pack (for instance, yours may not have underscores), you can easily change the pathname at the bottom of the .crs.OK FINALLY please feel free to leave feedback, I have no idea what I'm doing haha (note: the video below is a bit outdated, the download is not)

I thought r21freak in general hated this place...
I don't personally have anything against this site (well duh, otherwise I wouldn't really post my stuff here). I feel like Z-I-V and r21freak like different things out of simfiles, and that's fine with me. I figured some of my files could appeal to some players here, so I only see crossposting these here as a positive thing. Also lol 'well known', I don't really think I compare to others called that, but anyway
I would say it's just generally more because r21freak is more ITG-oriented, while I find ZiV (before, dunno how it is now) tends to be more DDR-oriented, so their charts tend to be for DDR-styled charts
It's like going to FFR, except they are usually purely keyboard step-artists, so the difference is much bigger there than here.

While I agree with you, I'm simply going to say I am much more interested in hearing about the files in this thread than about stepmania boards.

Haha alright, I'm giving those course files a try mostly because my file is in it and I'm really curious as to what you did to it :V I'm surprised you liked it, despite it being 20th lolPost #29 · Posted at 2012-10-03 08:14:31am 11.6 years ago

So I take it these are keyboard steps?
I watched the entire way through one of your videos, and it seemed pretty step-able at first... And then the piano solo started.
I'll watch a few more to get a good feel for'em, in the mean time.

No they're all pad simfiles considering I play a bunch of them on pad regularly.
Lord Usa is only 128 bpm (I can only assume you mean that one if you're talking about a piano solo); 24ths would make it equivalent to 196 bpm 16ths which is certainly not the hardest thing to do on pad.

@Joe#2 Are you the same guy who made that really old ITG chart for some sort of 2:20 cut of As The Rush Comes -Armin Van Buuren Remix-? (That 11 chart with all those streams & jumps)

-all my files are pad files, single/double expert by ITG terms
-actually snacks i've stepped a lot of songs with piano solos so it doesn't help to narrow it down
-no that is not me

Oi. That's madness is what that is.
I did mean Lord Usa; I apologize for not mentioning the name.
And, sure, a few 16ths at that speed, like... 3, maybe even 4 in a row might not be taxing, but I've learned my lesson and my limits from previous experience. Physics will not let me move that fast for more than 4 beats, and the constant switching between buttons makes it worse.
I suppose my last comment on Lord Usa would be: Please tell me you at least use a back bar to successfully play that song. I may not believe you if you tell me you don't use one.
However, on a positive note!
I really liked Easy dance; It had a really nice flow and groove to the step pattern, and it fit well with the song. Hand-in-hand with Lord Usa, it really shows your flexibility for creating steps! I won't lay into the praise too much, because it's definitely the easier of the two and that might be carrying opinions, but I'm sure I would have a blast dancing to Easy Dance.
