Z-I-v Summer Contest 2014 [CLOSED]

Are You That Somebody: Was pretty nice. I'd say it's an easy 9 (12/13 X-scale), but that's just me. Felt like there were some doublesteps, but overall was great. 8/10.

Battle (VS Trainer): It was pretty fun. Flows well despite some doublesteps. 8/10.

Black Cat Nero (Radio Edit feat. Alvin): Very nice chart. Seems to be a doublestep leading into the 16th stream. Best out of the three I've played so far. 9/10.

Boomerang Fighter: Pretty great file, challenging but it flows pretty well. 9/10.

Breathless: 7/10
Expert: I like it, but it seems to lose flow in a few places. Overall, I'd say it's an 8/10.
Challenge: I felt it was unnecessary. It flows well, but there are too many freezes, jumps, and 16th streams for a song like this. 6/10.

Bye Bye Bye: Seems like people liked it, but it was too short. I imagine this is what the original cut in EuroMix2 would have been like. I might recut it when I officially release it.

calling for destiny: 7.5/10
Expert: I sorta liked it. It seems to lack a bit of flow. 7/10.
Challenge: Somehow, I liked it better than the Expert chart. It flowed really well, but it still felt too challenging for this particular song. 8/10.

Chemical Plant Zone: Flows well, fun to play. 8/10.

Danca de Manivela: Very fun. I have nothing bad to say about this. 10/10.

Doraemon no Uta (1992 ver.): I love your song choice! It oddly reminds me of the musical Disney movies, like Mary Poppins, Cinderella, etc. The chart flows well, but I felt like a couple of the jump freezes weren't quite in the right spot (probably just me). 8/10.

DotA: First off, it's nightcore. I don't like nightcore because all it is is a bunch of sped/pitched-up songs. However, I'm not taking that into account here. The chart was boring, and not even close to being a 9. There was little variety and a lot more could have been done in numerous sections. I guess there's nothing technically wrong with the chart though... so it gets a 5/10 from me. You'll get better at this though! I used to be way worse than this.

EternuS: I'm sorry, but this is terrible. Reminds me of my first simfile which I will not discuss further. There should be NO 8th notes in the full-BPM section of the file (in the half-BPM part it's fine as the 8th notes there are essentially 4th notes). The sync seems to drift quite a bit, and the ending on a 12th leads me to believe that it's a cut issue. Make sure the beats of the song line up well. If you need help with this, I'm sure someone here will help you. Also, the jumps in the middle of the 12th streams? They're a little hard to do and seem unnecessary, but it is supposed to be a 10. Overall, this file gets a 3/10 from me. Don't worry, you can always improve. I used to make terrible simfiles; now, I'd say mine are pretty decent.

Expert: Fun chart, might be a doublestep here and there, but it works. 8/10.
Challenge: Also fun, seems to be some extra arrows here and there. 8/10.

Giudecca: 7.5/10
Expert: Those 12ths/24ths/32nds/whatevers in the slow part? Get rid of those, they don't belong in an 8, even at that BPM. Otherwise, it was enjoyable. 7/10.
Challenge: Seemed fine and a little fun. Failed on the last arrow. 8/10.

Hogging Molly: 9/10
Expert: Very fun, can't see much wrong with it. 9/10.
Challenge: I don't care, I love it! It feels hectic, which matches the song perfectly. 9/10.

Hydrocity Zone Remix (Act 2): 7.5/10
Expert: I feel like it should have been easier, but I guess there wasn't really much wrong with it. 8/10.
Challenge: My hands got tired and I failed. I feel like the Expert chart (with a few additions to the patterns) should have been Challenge, and a new Expert chart made. This one just seems excessive. 7/10.

Imagine: The BPM should be doubled. BPM changes would be nice as well. Otherwise, it's a nice chart. 8/10.

Independent Women Part I: It's good; it would fit in well in a DDR game. Cut seems a little weird though. 8/10.

Kiss (When the Sun Don't Shine): It's pretty good, nothing really stood out though. 8/10.

Listen: Seems offsync. Stepchart is good, but may have some doublesteps. 7/10.

One More Lovely: Seems like a good chart to me. 8/10.

Pokemon (Techno Remix): Pretty good chart, not much to say about it. 8/10.

Popocatepetl: Very fun chart. Not surprised it's near the top. 9/10.

Quest: Decent chart, seems to have a few doublesteps though. 8/10.

RIIIIIIIIIIIIIIDGE RACER: Decent chart, fit the pace of the song well. 8/10.

Robot Snares Got no Cadence or Balance: Interesting song choice; I love it. Steps work well with the music. 9/10.

Something For The Weekend: I actually really loved this. Might have been a doublestep in a place or two, but it all worked. 9/10.

SPRING RAIN (LLUVIA DE PRIMAVERA): Pretty solid chart. 8/10.
