Other stuff:
-When a file has lyrics, they overlap with the song info box on ScreenGameplay (only if there are 2 lines shown on screen).
-Edit mode is really bugged. The options bgm will play when entering menus, and lines will appear (like on the system options screen).

Forgive my ignorance, or just being stupid in my inability to see it, but I'm not finding the simfile pack that's supposed to come with the theme. The link on the front page goes to the simfile thread, but I see no link for it there either. Is it hosted somewhere else?

The simfile pack is not yet in a releasable state, to the best of my knowledge. I don't work on it.

The simfile pack will not be available for another few months, possibly not even till the actual game is released. Let me talk to marten about releasing only 10 songs like last time.Post #186 · Posted at 2016-01-20 03:05:36am 8.3 years ago

The theme being complete gave me the impression that everything was done. Sorry folks.

Those errors are probably caused by the data summary screen, and I actually have to fix the bug still, which involves gutting the current MyGrooveRadar system, woohoo. The change I suggested is just enough to keep the game actually playable.
The way toasties work in this theme is that they will only appear if you have one of a handful of DDR characters installed. I know Rage is one of them. If you pick Rage as a character, for example, you get a DDR-style cut-in at 50 Perfects. This will probably change in the future, but that's how it works right now.

Where can I find the latest version of Rage that will work? I tried one I found on here w an advanced google search, but it doesnt seem to do anything still at 250.

Have you added made the Rage folder in the Characters folder yet?
I know it's confusing and I'm trying to think of a way to replace it but for now, do as follows:
Go to the characters folder
Make a copy of the default folder
Rename it to Rage
then be sure to choose Rage as your dancing character.

I'm 99% sure the two version of rage that i have are not working.
the one time i finally got him to run (in the default skin not this one) it ran like doodyballs and froze up.
Any chance you can link me to the correct rage to grab?
Sorry, I'm just DYING to get the old skewl toasty since I'm a lil old skewl.
hah. And after all that, I still didn't get toasty to happen at 250 or 350 perf with them turned on in the menu. damn it to hell! All i want is my old toasty from MK back

This theme's never going to have classic-style toasties, unfortunately.

better question; does it even matter if the theme has toasties or not? why is this even an issue of concern?

It matters to me and I was asking if anyone knew which theme would have it in there, since it may not work in this one....why would THAT be an issue?
If you can't/wont point me in the proper direction, you can move on. kthnxbye

after playing through roughly 50 times, the error messages stopped coming up. Only every other game will I get a blank error box with no writing inside.

the default doesn't but supposedly you can and some people have, add it in.
I'm looking for it because i started playing SM with its first beta laugh like a million years ago now and I'd like to have it back. I haven't play SM or any DDR in 7 years or so and I'd like to relive some of my childhood here.

SM5 has always had toasty support. The default SM5 theme doesn't have a toasty because the Charmy image wasn't legal and nobody felt like making a replacement.Toasties are passed more info since 5.0.8. Here's a quote from the 5.0.8 release notes:
Quote
ToastyAchievedMessageCommand
The parameter table broadcast with this message has changed. It is now as follows:
{
PlayerNumber= pn, -- the player number of the player that earned the
toasty
ToastyCombo= number, -- the current number of W2/W1 in a row the player has
Level= number, -- the number of toasties earned in a row
}
Adding the Level parameter allows the themer to easily set off a different
effect based on how long the player has gone without breaking their toasty
combo.
See Docs/Themerdocs/Examples/Example_Actors/Toasty.lua for an example of
BGAnimations/ScreenGameplay toasty.lua that uses these parameters.
The Gameplay::ToastyTriggersAt metric can be a function now, or a number.
If the metric is a function, the function is passed the player number, and the player's current
toasty level, and the number it returns is the number of additional steps to
earn the next toasty.
If the metric is a number, it is the number of additional steps to
earn the next toasty.
This means that ToastyTriggersAt=250 and
ToastyTriggersAt=function(pn, level) return 250 end have the same
effect: Toasties will be awared at 250, 500, 750, and so on.
The Gameplay::ToastyMinTNS metric has been added for controlling the minimum
TapNoteScore needed to maintain toasty combo.
From the end of the same release notes:The parameter table broadcast with this message has changed. It is now as follows:
{
PlayerNumber= pn, -- the player number of the player that earned the
toasty
ToastyCombo= number, -- the current number of W2/W1 in a row the player has
Level= number, -- the number of toasties earned in a row
}

A short digression about earning toasties
A toasty is a special award for achieving a certain number of W2 or W1 steps
in a row. In the default theme, this is 250 steps in a row, and W2 is known
as Perfect, and W1 is called Flawless. The number of toasties earned is
stored in the profile. Some themes show a special animation and play a
sound when a toasty is earned.
The current toasty combo is the progress towards this goal. Each note on a
row counts as one point in the toasty combo, thus jumps are two, and hands
are 3 or more.
Hitting a step with a judgment worse than W2 breaks the toasty combo,
resetting it to 0.
For many years, achieving 250 W2/W1 in a row, then 1 W3, then 250 more W2/W1
in a row would increment the toasty counter in the profile by 2, but only show the animation once. Earning 500 W2/W1 in a row was still only 1 toasty.
This behavior has been changed so that 500 W2/W1 in a row will increment the
toasty counter twice, and show the animation twice.

Pretty easy to find out whether SM5 has toasty support.
