Hey guys, so as I've said in some previous I'm starting to play DDR more and more and getting back into shape. I can happily say that I'm at least able to 8 to 9 footers again. How ever, the cheap foam insert pad I bought is already having problems. Mostly with the buttons registering, so needing a new pad I went on Amazon and order a Tournament Metal Pad from a company called "World Wide Distribution" Of course as I should have known...The pad never came and I'm in the process of getting my money pad.
Anyhow, my questions to you guys....
1. Where can I find a solid DDR Pad that isn't over $300? (I don't necessarily want a metal pad...but If I could find a cheap one I would take in a heart beat.)
2. What are some reliable places to purchase those pads? (Even if it's an amazon account.)
Back in the day, it seemed that pads were easier to come by. Haha

When I came back to play ddr, I bought a ps2 with 2 pads, a chinese pad and a high school musical pad, the chinese pad obviously died, but the high school musical pad works fine, if you can find one, I recommend it.
Here is a photo in case you do not recognize it:
It is of good quality and easier to get than an original konami pad. If you get a soft pad, avoid folding it, I always keep it extended, store it in a place where it will not be damaged. But I actually don't use it because I've got a replica of an arcade pad, and play Stepmania and ITG on the pc.
About the sites where you cand find some DDR stuff, the first places are amazon and ebay, or local gaming stores, some of them still have DDR related stuff.
Hope you find a good pad.

$200 and you can have my CF if you live nearby or are willing to put up with shipping
You might be better off waiting for whenever kyle and/or matt's pads are available to buy and save up your money for that instead.
Foam and softpads are essentially all bad and never last longer than a year if even that; don't even bother.

Thank you guys! A CF for 200 would be quite the offer. Unfortunately the time being I'm still saving some money but if the offers still on the table for a while I will definitely still be interested. Especially since getting a hold of things can be tough. (I got a hold of the factory who makes the metal pads I ordered and they sent me one as an apology. but I'm still going to look into a second pad for double mode soon.
I agree on those foam pads. I bought one and the thing started acting up within the week...and I don't even play on the ten footers that often. Basically the foam became too soft...but when I take the foam out the pad bunches up and no matter what I do it ends up getting messed up. (Certain buttons stop working and others press randomly making it frustrating. Nothing worse than getting boo simply because you have an arrow that won't work.)
To the guy above., that's actually not a bad suggestion. Back when I was in High School I used a cheap pad like that and weirdly enough some of those cheap pads work better than the Konami ones...Granted I had to ducktape the pad to the ground. Haha

I could possibly be interested... (don't quote me on that but maybe...)
Does it come with a control box? (sorry for bringing the thread OT)

How much would it cost to ship this to 07043? Can I also have photos? (we should probably take this to PM)

As it turned out I found some okay metal pads from DDR Game...I say okay because one pad wasn't that well built while the other one appears well built but had a hefty price tag. I actually did a little video comparing the two for those who are curious.

DDRGame has a bad reputation, unfortunately. I've either bought or known someone who has bought a total of 6 pads from them, and every last one has become broken (at least one arrow stops responding 100%) within a year. You can also tell from their site that their product isn't selling well, and they're kind of desperate to sell more.

I don't disagree with that. They're more a decent budget pad for me, mainly because the precision ones are really expensive and there just aren't too many metal pad companies anymore.

The DDRGame ones aren't terrible if you're an average player, but that down arrow WILL short out on you after about a year if you play anything higher than 13s (x-scale).
Obligatory "wait for Impulse Platforms" etc, etc.

^ Interesting, I've never had the down arrow break on me. It's always either the up arrow or the right arrow. I tend to play X-scale 12-14s.

I wouldn't call $250 every year budget at all, since that's how often they break.ポスト #13 · 2018-03-03 02:42:01amにポスト 6.2年前

There is no good solution to this aside from "scour eBay", "nick a machine" or "have paitence until Impulse comes out in 2033".

That's basically what I was thinking. (Side note: I guess it depends on the player, I haven't really had many problems with the DDR game pads but that's because I don't play a lot of ten footers and above. I mainly play for weightloss, all though I can still snag some AAA's here and there.

FWIW, Impulse Platforms are getting ready to be beta tested.
