I've bought two soft mats made by DDRGame (I think) and neither of them work anymore with my stepmania setup. So I've decided to spring for a metal mat. The thing is, most of the links and brand names listed in forums are either dead, sold out, or way over my $200 price limit. I have found a few pads on ebay and one on craigslist but I'm not sure of their quality. Are they any good? is there anywhere else I could find a metal pad for around $200 for stepmania on PCs? Or do I have to make do with a soft mat? Or is DDR/Stepmania just dead now altogether? At any rate, thanks for reading.

DDR console is dead, contact that person and post a picture here.
I can tell you if the pad is good. 200 Dollars seems like a reasonable price. or maybe just 210.
Please try to get a picture if its a DDRGAME IGNORE IT. DDRGames are the worse pads in the world.

These aren't metal pads, and they are out of your price range, but if you are looking for someone to build you a pad, this is your best bet.

Also, yeah, don't do business with DDRGame anymore. They are terribad.

Thank you guys for the quick replies! I've just sent the email asking for pictures and more information. Hopefully they'll respond... Either way, the ones on ebay seem to be less than $200, but they aren't made of metal? How do you tell?

I think he was talking about the Precision Dance Pads. The top layer is acryllic (read: not metal), and the pads themselves are $300 (which is obviously more than $200).

Precision? You mean the ones listed as "Vortz"? I must be missing something because the prices seem to be around $90 for me. Or are you adding the hundred dollar shipping charges into that?

Ahh, ok. I figured I was misunderstanding. Sorry.
It's not impossible for me to get a Precision dance pad, but i doubt I'll be able to get it anytime soon. It already took some effort and time to get the $200 I have currently. They sure are thin looking though, if the google images are accurate. Are they reliable?

Yeah, they are. I use one myself and the most I have to do is every few months clean out the arrows. It's reliable. (In fact, didn't he just upgrade his pads to be better and not need constant cleaning?)

Precision Dance pads are the best dance pads ever. Next to Cobalt Flux of course.
Since we are talking about dance pads..
I found this on ebay.. What is this?

I'm with Izumi...the Omega GX I played on feels better than the Cobalt Flux I used to play on years ago and it's incredibly accurate. In my opinion, the Precision Dance pads feel nearly as good as an ITG 2 dedicab to me. I have a Red Octane Afterburner metal pad I got some years ago and it doesn't even compare, I actually get really fatigued playing on that thing.

Well, I called and emailed but there's no reply from Craigslist. Guess I'll have to save up for the Precision Dance pad. Should take me about... 2 or three months if I'm lucky. Honestly though I'm thinking about setting Stepmania to Jukebox mode and pretending to play. Pretty sad, but pretty cheap too.
