SEGA CONFIRMS HATSUNE MIKU: PROJECT DIVA F RELEASING IN THE WEST
The World’s Most Popular Digital Singer Makes Her Western Debut On PlayStation 3 System
SAN FRANCISCO & LONDON – June 6, 2013 – SEGA® of America, Inc. and SEGA® Europe today announced that Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA F™, the ultimate rhythm game where players can experience a concert with the virtual diva at any given moment, will be available in North America on both PlayStation®3 system and Playstation®Network, and in Europe on Playstation®Network. Being the first console game released for the franchise in the West, Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA F will include all of the updated graphics, additional songs and features of the Japanese version, but fans won’t have to wait long to play the game as the demo will be available on June 11th for the U.S. and June 12th for Europe.

Her popularity continues to increase in the West and she has over 950,000 dedicated English speaking fans on Facebook. In 2011, she packed the Nokia Theater in Los Angeles for her first ever Western concert, and tickets sold out almost instantly. To gauge interest for Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA F in the west, SEGA asked fans to like and share an image of Miku to pledge their support, and the response was astounding. In less than 3 days, the post received over 25,000 likes and 15,000 shares.
“It’s very rare that we’re able to answer the overwhelming support and demand for a game like Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA F,” said John Cheng, President and COO, SEGA of America. “And we’re excited to be able to deliver this creative and unique experience for the western audience to enjoy.”
Step onto the world's ultimate stage! Join Hatsune Miku in an all-new video game featuring selections from her popular songs. Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA F features 38 unique songs including popular tracks like Tell Your World and Black ★ Rock Shooter. Players can create and share their own Miku videos in “Edit Mode” and can customize the popular diva with over 90 costumes and 100 accessories.

If only Mega Man Legends 3 had this kind of fandom...
Seriously, good call, and there's a demo too? Sega, you had my curiosity, but now you have my attention.

I guess it can't hurt to wait until August. I'm hoping that there aren't any bowdlerizations...

The EU release, originally to take place the same week as the NA release, has been pushed back a bit to September 4: https://twitter.com/SEGA/status/372059087124836352
Also, I got a voicemail yesterday from Ivy at GameStop (who may or may not actually be a robot) telling me I can pick up Hot Soon Miku Project Diva tonight at midnight. Probably just going to pick it up on my lunch break tomorrow though.

Is the game only released in a physical copy? Because I looked on the PSN store and I didn't see it.

It's out digitally everywhere now: (US) (CA) (GB)
@al2k4: the 36.99 pound pricing is incorrect; the game released with incorrect pricing initially. Correct pricing is 34.99 pounds/44.99 euros.

Not according to Sony's site. It was £31.99 this afternoon, then bumped up to £36.99. It is still £36.99.

Going by the official site since we know the price on PSN to be janky. Unfortunate that Sony is essentially charging a premium for no reason though, but at least some early birds got a pretty nice discount out of it. It should be noted 34.99 is the correct price and that it is currently mispriced on PSN, at least.
Edit: Official site has the 36.99 price now.

We have almost all the not-song DLC already; Snow Miku will be available for sale after the GameStop exclusivity period ends. No word on the Toro and Kuro DLC (which contains half of PoPiPo), but I heard the licensing situation for Toro and Kuro outside of Japan is complicated.
