What about ISP's, such as AOL and SBC Yahoo!, which allow you to log in under a different IP each time?
It's not just them, practically every ISP hands out a dynamic IP. I'm pretty sure that the ones that offer static IPs charge more for them.A good DSL connection can imitate a static IP though. I've had cases where the connection was only dropped when the power went out, so we had the same IP for over 6 months.

If someone logs into a shared IP and then someone else uses it, will they be recognized as one person using multiple accounts?
What if you log in on another user's computer?

Yeah, it'd show two accounts. I'll figure something out when v5 is launched, not when v4 and v5 are both online. It'll be a pain to sync them up.

Can we just get an automatic ban for creating goodbye threads?
I mean, it's not like they have much chance of NOT being rated to crap afterwards anyway.

But that's kind of immoral though.

I consider it pretty 'immoral' to think that you're important enough to warrant an entire thread dedicated to you saying your last goodbyes to the forum when you are most definitely not. 100% of the goodbye threads I have seen on here were people that got mad because their conduct on the forums was less than tolerable, got negative ratings, and instead of trying to improve their posts, storming out of the website because they couldn't POSSIBLY be wrong, it's everyone else who is crazy.

Hahahaha, pie is completely right. If a mention of goodbye threads were put in the rules and some idiot decides to make one, finds themselves banned, then tough shit for them. They should've read the rules.
It's more immoral to have the thread opened for however long it takes for Al to see it, with the creator of the thread being ridiculed for the fool they are and publicly humiliated. However amusing it can be to see this, it becomes EXTREMELY annoying.

Yah but banning someone for just creating a thread about whatever its is just wrong. Also its kinda retarded, too.lol I wouldn't enforce that if I made a little community website.

But it's not just "whatever" though. The goodbye threads are usually by people that are not much liked by the local community just because they didn't bother to follow simple forum manners and rules and whinge about it out loud in the forums like it's not their fault, which ultimately lowers their likeability even more... so yeah, I'm 50% in favour of this. Also, why banning a person who is leaving the forum?... I mean, If someone is leaving the site forever, is like he banned by himselfPost #78 · Posted at 2008-08-28 09:45:10am 16 years ago

True, but sometimes when they make a thread saying good-bye, they seldom come back & it happens again

Also, it stops them from making more comments to further diminish their already spoilt reputation. Just check this out:

LOL SO TRUE! Also creating a so called Good Bye Thread is just another way of trying to get everyone's attention. It's like those people that are always saying "OMG i'm so ugly!" They do it because they want to hear the contrary "No ur not, ur beautiful!" By creating this thread they want other people to tell them not to go. They know they are going to be banned anyway, so they just do it so that they can leave some kind of mark behind them. Very dump in my opinion. If you are leaving, DO SO! DON'T SAY SO!!!
