Hey guys
Just returned from a trip to Japan and I miss it so much :<
I think it is finally time to build a new PM setup. Right now I still use the small Konami controller and a non-official PM16 since I never found newer versions for PC.
So what is the best way to play PM at home? Which options exist?
A problem I have is that my current controller works great on PS2, but rather bad on PC and I don't know why. Thats why I never bought a more expensive AC style controller (best place to buy (shipping to Germany)?) since I thought that even with a new controller I may have the same issues. Also on LR2 it seems not to accept the same button pressed repeatedly in a very quick succession. Is it the adapter I use? It is a plain PS2<>USB adapter. I have no idea where this faulty behavior comes from.
Concerning emulators, I dont really like the LR2 look-and-feel for PM.
Big thanks in advance for your help \(^0^ )

What skin are you using to play? If youre still using the default skin for lr2, try to get a more pop'n accurate one like this:http://overactive.nobody.jp/bms_skin/lightpop/
As for the converter, I've only ever heard of beatmania USKOCs not working well with them so I'm not sure what's going on. You might try a different converter, like the ps3-usb ones on amazon.

I am not using any skin and I have problems downloading the lightpop skin. Is there another mirror for it?
So do you think that LR2 is the way to go to emulate PM? I also tried Feeling PoMu but it seems old and isnt working well either.
And is there really a good possibility that a PS3-USB adapter will work better? I thought those adapters must be so simple, I was wondering how they could possibly NOT work perfectly ;)

Mirrored for you.
There aren't really any other good pop'n sims besides LR2 unfotrunately. With a better skin it should be decent.
I honestly don't know what the problem is with your controller and your adapter, but I know those adapters are the ones that work best for American IIDX controllers.

thx for mirroring. But even in the official doc I dont find the explanation on where to copy the files to. I found where I can select the skin ingame, but first it needs to be in the right place. Sensei, oshiete kudasai ;)

Paste the OA_LP folder into LR2files\Theme.

OK, with this and the PM_SELECT it looks way better to me ;) thanks
Are there any recent news on good PM AC controllers/manufacturers? Would be awesome if shipping wasnt too expensive. Also, I prefer custom design over the standard design, any recommendations on quality shops?

There isn't much besides the Dao controllers that are worth buying. Pop'n is a pretty dead game these days; there are new manufacturers for SDVX controllers but not much else in terms of ASCs.
