Today was the Apple keynote for their new latest product. The one that usually stands out the most is the iPhone and this year is possibly one of the best years for Apple. Today the iPhone 7 was announced. It is now waterproof. Which is a huge step up. There is no headphone jack. BUT. IT has a lightning cable headset and a aux to lightning converter. In my opinion it is gorgeous.

I really don't understand why they had to remove the headphone jack. Why couldn't it just be there as an option?
Then again, Apple changes a lot of shit and we adapt to it, so I might gripe about it now but if I get my hands on an iPhone 7 I would most likely learn to love it.

I guess I'll keep my old one, thanks.
IMO, the sacrifices made for style points are not worthy. It looks good tho.

Great, add this to the list of Things That Make It Easy For Me To Tell You're Retarded If You Own.
I mean, fucking REALLY? No headphone jack? Why don't you just remove the MicroSD card slot while you're at it? Fuck off, Apple. Android never had competition.

Apple: "Courage!"
Me: "Uhhh... o... kay?"
http://www.theverge.com/2016/9/7/12838024/apple-iphone-7-plus-headphone-jack-removal-courage/in/12594293
Well... there's this:
"As has been rumored all year, the iPhone 7 line does not have a standard 3.5mm headphone jack. In its place is a second speaker, giving the phone stereo sound, and Apple has developed a set of EarPods with a Lightning connector that will be included with the phone. Additionally, an adapter comes in the box so you can still use 3.5mm headphones with the device."

This ought to be interesting. I guess I can't wait for some actual product reviews from consumers and see how it well the iPhone7 bodes without the headphone jack.

Honestly, with the way companies are starting to remove significant features (such as the removable battery on android devices and the removal of the optical disc drive on the desktop Apple computers, in addition to Apple's 3.5mm headphone jack removal), as well as planned obsoletion in general, I'm probably going to start heading down this path. I'm not a fan of what the future seems to hold.

One of those will set me back about £20, it sends texts, does calls and is an mp3 player. That's literally ALL I need. I do have a cheap preowned iPod touch for net browsing because my bus has Wi-Fi and occasionally I wanna play some jb, but even that's about £100 tops nowadays.

If this manages to sell well enough, I guess it will be more or less a reminder of how some of us in the world love to go for expensive items (regardless of what they are) just for the sake of having them, not because they have any real usefulness in life. It's nice to look at, but in a day or two I would probably forget it ever existed. Perhaps this has proven already given everything Apple managed to sell to this day.

$42 USD, 5 years, multiple hits, still working. Only use it as mp3 player because nobody calls me ._.

I still owe 300 something bucks on my 64GB Rose Gold 6s Plus. I like how it looks and the new features sound neat but the sole reason why I don't lease is because I like to hold on to my phones even after I upgrade. iOS 10 is due out on Tuesday and I'm looking forward to all the new features. My phone will be the one to get it and won't my iPad Pro 12.9 yet until I know that REFLEC BEAT plus and jubeat plus have no issues with the firmware
Speaking of iPads, seems that while there are no new models announced, the Air 2, mini 4, and mini 2 will now have their base models upped from 16 to 32GB without any price increases. That's good news.
*Looks like the 6s models are predictably shaving 100 bucks off their SKUs, major catch like the iPads is the 6s and 6s Plus will now be offered in 32GB base storage. The only iOS device that will be sold left in 16GB is the SE.

NGL, if Apple hadn't announced that headphone jack-to-Lightning adapter that's coming with the 7, that would've been the tipping point for me to switch entirely to Android (I prefer having an iPhone for, well, my phone, and an Android device for my tablet).
I'm totally calling that the 7S (or whatever next year's phone may be called) will do a 180 and re-add the headphone jack because of complaints or something like that. Not holding my breath, considering this is Apple we're talking about, but we've seen companies pay dearly for thinking something people use every day is now considered to them, "obsolete"... or it's Apple's revenge for no one ever using their FireWire ports instead of USB. ;)

You can't play our beloved BEMANI titles using wireless sound equipment. There's just no way you can use bluetooth and maintain a level of accuracy. I am a bit concerned how play will be affected with the new headphone adapter. On one hand you can see third party dacs coming out that have superior sound. The other once again if there's lag even with using the adapter.
A buddy of mine is dead set on buying a 7 Plus he's going to pre-order it. I'm gonna have him test REFLEC BEAT out and see how it runs on the 7.
