[SM5 Beta 4 Theme] - DDR X2 Plus (CS/PS2)

Not sure what might be causing that one. I just played a round of Player 2 Vs CPU battle mode and it didn't crash. What was happening at the exact moment you pressed the P2 start button? And is there a situation where this crash always occurs, or was a 1-time thing?

Glad y'like the theme! From the looks of it, you've played a few themes from the folks here. Do you have particular favorites or do you change themes every so often?

I see a lot of "textures aren't a power of 2 warnings" but I assume you know that. Making a SM5 theme seems very complicated. But I haven't had any of the other problems mentioned in this thread. (I guess you fixed them?)

Hey Al; I remember you telling me you wanted to play the theme back when I showed the progress at the Holyoke tournament. Hope you're liking it.

I saw the texture warnings when I ran SM5 in Windowed mode. I might look at them again and see if any can be appeased by stretching or shrinking the texture by 1 pixel in GIMP, which I must say was very helpful for adapting images for the theme.

any possibility to correctly support 640x480 with this theme? its promising and I'd love to run it on my cab someday

I could try; Probably a matter of moving and shrinking the textures.

How do you go about running SM5 on a cab? I have one myself I'd like to do so with, but right when I was gonna get a Minimaid the guy cuts off the supply.

I was on the song select screen after playing a round of Mei (I was on Event Mode).


My favourites are Simply Love and DDR NG (and 2013, but it's not a ZiV theme.) Haven't tried NG on beta 4 yet though. I have about 6-7 themes which I cycle between, and I choose certain ones for different situations (Simply Love for courses, DDR 2013/NG for making videos, waiei when I want to spice things up etc.)

It would be awesome if you can add an update to support 2013 scoring (as in the max score being 1,000,000 and Goods carrying on a combo).

I use a Minimaid - I just recently upgraded from 3.9+ Redux when I realized that SM5 beta 4 finally has correct lights support for the Minimaid.

It's really great with the non-default theme, but the downfall is that certain themes don't work correctly with the newest beta (nothing new for SM5) but additionally, some themes that would otherwise be fine don't correctly support a standard definition 4:3 display.

I guess that's fair enough given SM5's shiny HD capabilities that the majority of its users will want to capitalize on, but I hope it's something that theme creators will take into consideration since there's a fair number of Minimaids out there now and its primary purpose is to basically run Stepmania, and I'm going to guess most of them have an old 573 or Supenova style cab with a 4:3 monitor.

Can someone say to me where is the screen filter option with this theme? I really liked it but I can't use video BG because the screen filter is just too dark :/

That's strange; there's no screen filter showing when I play with this theme.

I might look into it though; a friend of mine was asking about a screen filter since he generally plays with the darkest one he can.

Already have one month I downloaded this theme, it brings me great memories PS2. Thank you Musashi.

YES! I just added a 4:3 version to the OP, which I made after seeing that the theme was a little distorted when I tried it on my 573 Cab via Minimaid.
